Educational Process and Major Courses
At the end of four years of education and training, students will have internationally accepted qualifications (in terms of knowledge, skills and values) in this field. Our graduates are expected to carry out their professional practices on the basis of human rights and social justice and within the framework of social work ethics.
In the design of the training program, a structure was preferred that would allow students to gain detailed knowledge and skills in the fields they are interested in and want to work as a social worker. In addition to the compulsory courses they are obliged to take, ¼ of the education program includes elective courses. This arrangement facilitates students to gain knowledge and skills specific to their preferred fields. Our department is based on cooperative learning techniques. We encourage the active participation of students in the education process.
In order to strengthen the relationship between theory and practice in the implementation of the education plan, the knowledge and experience of social workers working in different institutions such as the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Family and Social Services, local governments and professionals from other disciplines are actively used. This provides an important opportunity for students to follow current changes and developments and to see different practices and interdisciplinary study content.
