Course Registration Procedures for the Spring Semester of the 2025-2026 Academic Year
Registration renewal and course registration for the Spring Semester of the 2025-2026 academic year will take place through the Student Information System (OBS) from 2 to 6 February 2026. Students are responsible for completing the entire renewal process and must register for their courses themselves.
Registration calendar and requirements
• Course registration begins at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, 2 February 2026.
• Students who are unable to register for a valid reason may submit a petition for late registration between 9 and 11 February 2026.
• The add/drop period will run from 9 to 13 February 2026.
• All students, including first-year students, must register for their own courses, except those enrolled in preparatory classes.
• Preparatory-class students are required to make payment between 2 and 6 February 2026 only if they have outstanding student contribution or tuition fees.
Course selection rules
• Students must first take courses from earlier semesters that they have failed or have not previously taken.
• Students with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) below 1.80 may register for a maximum of 30 ECTS credits; those with a CGPA of 1.80 or above may register for a maximum of 50 ECTS credits.
• To take courses from a higher year, students must have no failed courses from previous semesters and must have a CGPA of at least 2.50.
Student contribution and tuition fee payments
• Students in evening programmes, students whose studies in daytime programmes extend beyond the standard programme duration, those repeating the compulsory preparatory year and those enrolled in a second university programme must pay the applicable student contribution or tuition fee.
• Outstanding contribution or tuition fees can be viewed in the upper-right corner of the course registration screen.
• Students with outstanding charges may select courses but cannot finalise their registration. After payment, they must complete the procedure using the “Check” and “Finalise/Approve” buttons.
• If course registration is not finalised, the student will be considered unregistered for that semester and will not be entitled to exercise student rights during that period.
• Payments may be made between 2 and 6 February 2026 using the student number at any Halkbank branch or ATM, or through its internet and mobile banking services.
University-wide elective courses
Students required to take a university-wide elective in the relevant semester should observe the following rules:
• Students may not take university-wide elective courses offered by their own department or programme.
• On the registration screen, students must select the faculty and department offering the course they wish to take, or select “University Common Courses” in the unit field before choosing a course.
• A university-wide elective course will be offered only if at least 80 students have registered for it by the end of the course registration period.
• Students must check with the faculty or vocational school offering a course to confirm whether it will be opened.
• If a course is cancelled because the required enrolment has not been reached, the students concerned must select a different course during the add/drop period of 9-13 February 2026.
Pedagogical formation courses
Pedagogical formation courses have been added to the curricula of faculties authorised to provide pedagogical formation education as elective courses. During the Spring Semester of 2025-2026, only third- and fourth-year students may elect to take FRM-coded pedagogical formation courses, in addition to their compulsory programme courses. These courses are optional.

Students encountering problems with course registration must submit their requests through the Request Tracking and Support System.
