Job Description

Under with the objectives and principles determined by the top management of Suleyman Demirel University:

·         To carry out, plan, direct, coordinate and supervise the studies necessary to carry out education and training in line with the vision and mission of the faculty.

Roles and Responsibilities

·         To perform the duties given in law No. 2547 on Higher Education.

·         He/she chairs the faculty academic board, the faculty board, the faculty administrative board and the faculty disciplinary committee and ensures the implementation of the board's decisions.

·         He/she determines the mission and vision of the faculty and shares it with all the staff of the faculty, and motivates the employees to realize it.

·         He/she ensures the preparation of the faculty's budget every year.

·         He/she lays the groundwork for the effective, efficient, and legal acquisition and use of movable assets.

·         He/she prepares the staff needs of the faculty and presents them to the Rectorate.

·         He/she performs the duty of general supervision and control over the units of the faculty.

·         He/she provides the formation of an information system in the computer and output environment of the faculty.

·         He/she ensures the preparation and implementation of the surveys required for the information system.

·         He/she guarantees the faculty's regular continuation of instruction and training.

·         He/she develops policies and strategies related to education and research.

·         To prepare the ground for organizing events such as courses, seminars and conferences in the areas needed for the administrative and academic staff of the faculty.

·         He/she ensures that faculty evaluation and quality improvement studies are carried out regularly.

·         He/she identifies the problems related to the education system of the faculty, resolves them, and conveys them to top management when necessary.

·         He/she follows the rising values in education and ensures its implementation on the basis of the faculty.

·         He/she ensures the regular preparation and maintenance of research projects in the faculty

·         He/she ensures that the necessary studies are carried out for the accreditation of the programs in the faculty.

·         He/she provides the preparation of the strategic plan of the faculty.

·         He/she guarantees the effective and efficient use of the faculty's physical assets and human resources.

·         He/she ensures that the security measures are taken in the faculty campus.

·         He/she represents the faculty at a high level.

·         At the end of each academic year, he/she reports to the Rector on the functioning of the general situation of the Faculty.

·         Performs other duties assigned by the Rector regarding her/his field.

·         To ensure that the activities in the field of duty and responsibility are carried out in accordance with the definitions and instructions of the current internal control system.

·         He/she acts in accordance with the principles of saving.

·         He/she provides an environment that will enable staff to do their jobs more effectively and efficiently.

Job Description

·         He/she monitors the success of foreign students coming abroad and ensures coordination with the Ministry of National Education and relevant embassies.

·         He/she prepares the diploma supplement considering the European Credits Transfer System (ECTS- ECTS) based on the programs and ensures that it is given to the students who want it.

·         He/she provides the formation of an information system in the computer environment of the faculty.

·         He/she ensures the preparation and regular operation of the web page of the faculty.

·         He/she maintains relations with related institutes

·         He/she examines student internship requests.

·         He/she examines job applications sent to the faculty, ensures that these applications are published

·         He/she determines the students who will work in part-time status, their working hours and places.

·         He/she organizes events such as conferences, panels, meetings, symposiums, seminars, meals, excursions, technical trips to be organized by the faculty.

·         To comply with the ethical rules of the faculty, to participate in internal control activities.

Job Description

Job Description

•    Organizing administrative and academic affairs necessary to carry out education and training in line with the vision and mission of the faculty also responsibly towards the Dean and Vice-Deans

Roles and Responsibilities

The Faculty secretary, who answers to the dean, is in charge of carrying out the administrative services of the faculty, as stated in paragraph (b) of Article 51 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547.

·         To plan, coordinate, and supervise the execution of the subjects falling within the Faculty Secretariat in a healthy, orderly, and harmonious manner under the relevant legislation.

·         To make the financial year budget preparations of the faculty and to ensure that the budget is used in the best way.

·         Ensuring the execution of internal and external correspondence.

·         He/she takes the necessary security measures in the faculty campus.

·         To ensure the continuation of the heating, lighting, cleaning, maintenance and repair services of all the buildings of the faculty.

·         Ensuring the purchasing of goods and services needed in the faculty.

·         Participating in the organization and distribution of study rooms.

·         He/she ensures the execution of cleaning services and makes the necessary controls.

Job Description

The faculty board, chaired by the dean, consists of department heads and, if any, institute and school managers affiliated to the faculty. In addition to, it comprises three faculty members who will be chosen by the full professors, two faculty members who will be chosen by the associate professors, and one faculty member who will be chosen by the assistant professors. Their term of office is 3 years. The faculty board normally meets at the beginning and end of each semester. The dean calls the Faculty Board to a meeting when he/she deems it necessary.

Roles and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the faculty board are determined in paragraph (b) of article 17 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547.

·         Choosing the plan, schedule, and calendar for the faculty's education, training, scientific research, and publication activities as well as the guiding principles for these endeavors.

·         To perform other duties assigned by these laws and regulations.

Job Description

The faculty executive board, chaired by the dean, consists of three professors, two associate professors and an assistant professor to be elected by the faculty board for three years. The faculty board of directors convenes upon the call of the dean. If necessary, the faculty executive boards can establish temporary working groups, education coordinators and regulate their duties.

·         Assisting the dean in the implementation of the principles determined by the decisions of the faculty board.

The duties of department heads are specified in Article 21 of the Law No. 2547.

·         The department head is in charge of the division.

·         The head of the department leaves one of the faculty members as a deputy for periods when he/she will not be on duty.

·         The head of the department is responsible for the education, training and research of the department at all levels.

·         He/she is responsible for the regular and efficient execution of all activities of the department.

·         He/she chairs departmental boards.

·         He/she informs the dean's office in writing about the department's requirements.

·         He/she ensures that all kinds of correspondence between the Dean's Office and the Department are carried out in a healthy manner.

·         He/she provides coordination between the fields area affiliated to the department.

·         He/she ensures that the course distribution of the department is made in a balanced way among the lecturers.

Job Description

Under with the objectives and principles determined by the top management of Suleyman Demirel University:

·         The head of the department can appoint at most two of the faculty members in his/her department as the vice chair.

·         The head of the department can change his/her assistants when he/she deems it necessary.

·         The duties of the department head's assistants are ended along with the head of department office.

·         Deputy heads of department are the faculty member who assist the department head in fulfilling his/her duties and are not the hierarchical supervisor of the faculty member working in the unit.

·         The deputy heads of the department act as the hierarchical supervisor of the faculty member in the department, if they deputize for the head of the department.

Roles and Responsibilities

·         To act under the aims and principles specified in Articles 4 and 5 of the Higher Education Law.

·         Planning the faculty member and teaching staff needs of the department and presenting it to the Head of the Department.

·         The movable property and registry officer is responsible for acting in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations in matters such as the registration, preservation, distribution within the institution, export or transfer to other institutions and organizations, and deduction of faculty properties.

Roles and Responsibilities

·         Ensuring that all kinds of materials are entered and exited in accordance with the instructions.

·         Execution of the fixtures and consumables brought to the institution according to the instructions.

·         Execution of durable movable goods transactions.

·         Making plans and programs related to working principles.

·         Examination of the needs lists and warehouse stocks requested by the units.

·         Arrangement of the movable transaction receipt and inspection report of the materials received by the purchasing unit.
